Simmunext secures NWO Take-off Phase 2 funding.
Simmunext has secured funding from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) in the context of the Take-off Phase 2 program, which aims to stimulate and support activities and entrepreneurship towards applied sciences. The awarded project focuses on the application of immunofilaments (IF) in cancer. IF are proprietary polymers coupled to proteins that influence the immune system. In the past years, IF have been produced and tested in the lab. It has been shown that IF can effectively stimulate the immune system to kill cancer cells, and thereby inhibit tumor formation and metastasis in animal models. In the coming years, we will test IF clinically in patients. The current project will take first steps towards the production of IF at an industrial scale.
